Nowadays, internet becomes far more popular and vital in the lives of human. Although many people believe that internet provide more benefits, others argue that it also have negative impacts. This essay will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both this views.
There are various reasons why people believe that the internet has many advantages. Firstly, the internet has a large amount of information on almost any subjects that we can find and get instantly knowledge and sometimes the information is free. Secondly, the internet helps people communicate cheaply and conveniently with others through Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo and Skype. For example, a person can communicate easily with friends who live in other countries through Skype. Finally, there are many entertainment websites on the internet that people can watch movies, listen to music and play game.
However, others argue that the internet also has negative impacts. On the other hand, websites content the information that is not reliable and accurate. Students, for instance who often confuse and make mistake when they use the information from Wikipedia, blogs, forums and personal websites because this sources is not confirmed by a reliable source or organization. In addition, there are many people who are addicted to the internet so that they spend their most time chatting with friends, colleague and relatives on the internet. Also, some websites content porn movies or images that can be accessed by children. As a result, this may hurt the mental life of children.
In conclusion, it is true that internet brings us a lot of benefits but it also creates disadvantages when we use it. In my opinion, internet is a powerful tool that can help us or hurt us. Therefore, when we use the internet we should choose the good things and avoid the bad things.
